The Ferryboat Line Varna – Kavkaz
The ferryboat terminal is located on the western coast of the Beloslav Lake, about 30 km. away from the town of Varna. The ferryboat terminal is the only one in the Black sea region with possibility for adaption of the bogies from the European to the Russian standard and v.v. With that unique advantage the terminal offers one of the shortest and the cheapest transport of goods between the Europe and the Asia.
Trident Freight Ltd. is acting as agent for the ferryboat line connecting the port of Varna with the Russian port Kavkaz. Officially opened on 03.03.2009., the line is served presently by two Russian single-decker vessels m/v “Avangard” and m/v “Slavyanin” with carriage capacity respectively 45 and 50 wagons. M/v “Slavyanin” entered into service during the month of September 2010 and she is capable to carry not only railroad wagons but also trucks, busses, cars, tractors and other caterpillar or wheeled machinery and passengers as well.
The transit time between both ports Varna and Kavkaz is 36 hours.
